Philip Cassidy is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and performer from Ballina, Co Mayo. He has extensive experience both on and off stage and in the recording studio. He has also independently released his original music which has taken him on numerous tours around Ireland, UK and all across Europe with his former band 21 Outs.
Philip began working with Music Generation Mayo when it started back in 2011. He delivered tuition and workshops in the four corners of the county specialising in Guitar, Drums, Music Technology, Industry and Performance. Philip also worked with children with special educational needs and has been a vital part of several School Completion Programmes.
Philip took a hiatus from both Music Generation Mayo and his band in late 2014 and shortly after became the Primary Music Specialist at the International School of Lyon, France where he worked extensively with children from 36 different countries. An opportunity opened up with Music Generation Mayo in the summer of 2016 and Philip took on the role of Resource Worker with Music Generation Mayo. Since October 2016, Philip has re-branded and relaunched the former “Youth Music Hub” as The Core where he works both behind the scenes and actively engages in facilitation and tuition. In his free time, Philip continues to write and collaborate with other musicians.
